Punk Rock Night is every Saturday night at The Melody Inn

We're the longest running weekly Punk Showcase on the planet, the PRN staff donates our time and efforts, our payment is seeing great bands every week and helping the Indy music scene flourish.

Doors typically open at 9:00pm. Shows typically start sometime between 10:00pm and 11:00pm and usually end around 2:00am. Check the show listings page for specific show details.

Important booking information:

If you need to cancel day of show (shame on you) call The Melody Inn directly at 317-923-4707

If you would like to be booked at The Melody Inn on any night other than Saturday (non-Punk Rock Nights) - contact The Melody Inn directly here: http://www.melodyindy.com/

The Melody Inn and state law require all band members be at least 21 years of age. If some members are 18-20 years old we may be able to have them play first then leave immediately after performing.

Punk Rock Night books primarily punk bands and we don't stray far from punk. We do have special nights like Metal Night, Rock Night and Ska night but if you aren't punk, it might not happen.

Help the show move along smoothly by following these tips:

The first band loads their gear directly onto the stage.
The second band loads into the corner across from the stage.
Third and fourth bands keep your gear in your vehicles until the band before you is on stage - then you can load into the corner or set up on the sidewalk and load onto the stage when you're up. If it's cold out you can and should bring in anything sensitive to temperature.

Don't hold up the band after you! Don't disassemble your gear on stage - get it off the stage THEN take it apart and put it away - this way the band after you can get set up much quicker.

The Melody Inn provides the P.A. complete with monitors, microphones and mic stands. Usually only the vocals go through the P.A. - you must rely on your amps for guitars and such - drums: no one ever has a problem hearing un-miced drums at The Mel but sometimes we mic the kick drum. Let the door man know if you need anything special plugged into the board like keyboards or if you need a mic for a wind instrument.

Bands split 100% of the door so the more people that show up, the more you make. Occationally we will need to recoup advertising expenses but only after the bands have been covered.

Cover is usually $5 on 3 band nights and $6 or $7 on 4 band nights, depending on how many bands are from out of town.

Out of town bands get a higher % of the door than local bands to cover travel.

Sell merch if you want - when you check in, grab a table or booth to set up your wares.

Band beers are available for just $1.00.

There is a place to stay if you need it - ask a week in advance.

We promote shows via the website but bands are highly encouraged to promote hard as well - it does make a difference: posters, flyers, handbills, bulletins, event posts and more.
